The flick switched to winter just before they arrived

Day 2

We crossed the border just after lunch at Lightning Ridge, relief flooded through me as I knew we were getting closer. As the day went on I saw more and more road kills. Good to have a nice schnitzel at the pub in Roma.

 

 

Ocean Grove – Dubbo

5.43am out the front gate, coffee north of Melbourne. Sunshine, wattle everywhere. Lunch by the river at Gundagai. Kids decided baklava delicious from the Egyptian food stall in the Main Street. A flying stop at Cootamundra to see the Captains Walk then a winding drive on the Olympic Hwy and Banjo Patterson Way through canola fields to Dubbo.
